When Jamie and Abigail Forsyth started a café business in Melbourne in 1998, disposable cups were just entering the public landscape. As the business grew, so did their concerns about the volume of packaging being consumed, particularly disposable cups; lined with polyethylene - they were non-recyclable.
In 2007, following unsuccessful trials of existing reusable cups, they decided to design and make their own – a barista standard reusable cup for people to enjoy better coffee on the go.
They took a huge gamble that usability, sustainable manufacturing practice and design aesthetics could drive behaviour change and make a difference to how people think about convenience culture. KeepCup has grown from a solution to a problem, to define a product category.
Know The Origin Tote Bag
These bags were made at Freeset Factory. Freeset exists for the many women who have never had the choice to be free. They care about the thousands in West Bengal, India who are vulnerable to sex trafficking. These women don’t get to choose their occupation, and they want to change that. They make bags, tees, and hand-woven fabrics, and love that they are part of India’s long tradition of cotton and jute production.
Plastic Alternatives Straw
We have partnered with Plastic Alternatives to create our straws. A Bolton based company, Plastic Alternatives was set up with the aim of supplying businesses an alternative to plastic and paper straws. Whilst paper is better for the environment, they are still seen as disposable and therefore contribute to worldwide litter. Currently there are 5 'garbage patches' polluting the world’s oceans and destroying the delicate ecosystem. It's up to all of us to make the change and do our bit to reduce the incredible amounts of plastic that find its way into the world’s oceans and destroys sea life. Stainless Steel straws provide a perfect long term sustainable alternative.
Alex founded Georganics in 2014, they began making small batches of toothpaste mainly for themselves and friends. In 2015 Georganics came to life as a natural and plastic-free oral care company. They work with local suppliers and their small, dedicated team continue to make all their products on site in West Sussex.
They started with the goal of creating a full natural oral care range which is 100% cruelty-free, plastic-free and environmentally sustainable. They believe that it's unnecessary to use harsh chemicals to maintain healthy teeth and gums. Instead, they use ingredients from pure, organic sources which are safe for everyone and in line with their principles.
This beautiful bamboo toothbrush is the brainchild of Catherine and Catherine who combined their expertise as a hospital surgeon and a fashion buyer, to create Truthbrush. Every year over a billion plastic toothbrushes are thrown away worldwide, ending up in landfill, in the sea or washed up on a beach. Using a bamboo toothbrush with a biodegradable handle is a small change but together we can make a big difference. Bamboo is the perfect material for the Truthbrush as it is beautiful to look at, warm to touch and fully biodegradable. The natural antibacterial and antifungal properties of bamboo mean the Truthbrush is hygienic too. Bamboo is resistant to natural pests, which means it is farmed organically.

The Guppyfriend™ Washing Bag protects synthetic garments from releasing harmful microfibres into the environment and is one of our favourite zero-waste products. Synthetic garments release tiny plastic fibres into your washing machine which then find their way into the world’s oceans and waterways, taking centuries to decompose and accumulating bacteria and pollutants along the way that wreak havoc on delicate natural eco-systems.
The single compartment washing machine bag is made from 100% polyamide and can be fully recycled. The inside is slick, even where the tiny threads cross, which leads to reduced abrasion and breaking of fibres. The clothes in the bag undergo less mechanical stress and less friction with other clothes, leading to decreased fibre loss and significantly increasing the lifetime of your garments - saving the environment and prolonging your wardrobe!
Guppyfriend give their profits to the nonprofit STOP! Micro Waste, where children learn how to avoid plastics and initiate local solutions to reduce, eliminate or recycle single-use plastics.
