Karst Stone Paper
Kevin and Jon were becoming increasingly aware of the impact their paper consumption was having on the world. The paper industry relies on huge amounts of toxic materials and is a contributor to deforestation. On a trip to Taiwan, they discovered waterproof packaging being produced from stone which became the inspiration for Karst Stone Paper. Now they produce innovative waterproof notebooks, manufactured from byproducts of the construction industry. Their notebooks use no trees, water, wastes, acids or bleaches to produce and have a carbon footprint that is 67% less than pulp paper due to their use of solar power. Karst Stone Paper has also made a commitment to plant a new tree for every product bought to reverse the impact of their industry.
