Kaligarh

Traditional artisanship was on the decline in Kathmandu and across the Himalayan region. So, Jyoti founded Kaligarh, a jewellery brand that works closely with Himalayan artisans and helps to revive fading artistic traditions. Most small-scale artisans work independently, but they work with artisans directly and pay them premium rates. Supporting the artisans through advances and flexible work schedules, they can balance their home life whilst enhancing their income. Through regular employment and interest-free loans from the company, the people that Kaligarh’s work in partnership with, were able to reconstruct their homes and rebuild their lives after the earthquake in 2015.
