Teatulia
Ahsan founded Teatulia in 2000, growing the business into the largest organic tea brand in Bangladesh, with their range of teas being sold globally and from their very own Covent Garden tea shop. All of Teatulia’s tea is grown in the Teatulia garden in northern Bangladesh, employing a 3,500 strong workforce consisting of mainly women, following low-intensity farming methods. All employees are paid good wages and are provided with access to healthcare and education. Unlike many tea companies who buy teas in bulk at auction from a mixture of sources, for the past two decades, Teatulia has grown all of their teas in their garden in Tetulia, near the Indian border of northern Bangladesh, transforming arid scrubland into a lush haven for plants and wildlife.
