AK Threads was started to create Scandinavian inspired clothing, that combine both functionality and playfulness. The brand supports marginalised communities in Rajasthan, India, to turn their skillful craft into modern wearable pieces.
The brand was founded by Gracie, who studied fashion and worked in Rajasthan in India for one year with artisans and tailors. She experienced firsthand the skills and effort required to produce garments of high quality, and the positive effect sustainable wages had on local communities and individuals. Gracie saw that these materials could not only provide economic support, but were also extremely eco-friendly, using minimal water wastage, natural dyes and no carbon emissions. This is where AK began.
