Komorebi V Neck Shirt
Named from the Japanese concept of Komorebi expressing the appreciation for nature & beautiful elements such as leaves dancing in the sunlight.
Designed with a poetic edge this shirt is cut from a fluid weave of organic cotton with a luxurious, light dobby texture.
The relaxed- style shirt widens from the waist into an a-line shape, detailed with box pleat sleeves & cuff, fastened with Corozo eco buttons, to create a garment that can be worn as a part of a sartorial tailored style or soft feminine expression.
Fabric: 100% organic cotton maheshwar
Due to the handmade quality of hand woven & dyed pieces they will all slightly vary. AK Threads are proud of their slow made limited range and believe that each piece is special and unique, the irregularities are there to remind us of the handmade luxury.
Wash less and lighter for the longevity of the garment and the planet.
Hand wash separately for the first two washes. Wash with similar items using mild detergent on a low heat, dry away from direct sun light and heat. Turn inside out whilst washing and ironing. Iron with steam at low temperatures.
AK Threads aligns traditional artisanal practices with modern designs to create distinctive foundation garments. Their name comes from the Sanskrit word, Antakarana, meaning ‘for conscious living’. The brand was established whilst the creative director Gracie Sutton lived in India, working alongside rural artisans and women’s co-operatives. She saw the direct impact that female empowerment, sustainable wages and production had on local communities and wanted to provide rural artisans with access to the modern market, utilising skills and practices that are intrinsic to local cultures whilst producing clothing with endurance, fluidity and allure. With its emphasis on ecological and sustainable production, AK Threads source all their dyes from plants, botanicals and natural materials that use no chemicals, waste minimal amounts of water, reduce CO2 emissions, and remain biodegradable. AK Threads is committed to using natural dyes such as: indigo, recycled iron, Indian madder, jaggery cane sugar and pomegranate. The textiles AK Threads use are predominantly organic, grown from plants free of hazardous pesticides and synthetic dyes, thereby protecting the environment, the farmers, the workers and your own skin from harmful toxins and chemicals.
