Know The Origin Tote Bag
These bags were made at Freeset Factory. Freeset exists for the many women who have never had the choice to be free. They care about the thousands in West Bengal, India who are vulnerable to sex trafficking. These women don’t get to choose their occupation, and they want to change that. They make bags, tees, and hand-woven fabrics, and love that they are part of India’s long tradition of cotton and jute production.
Know The Origin Face Wipes
Most wipes contain non-biodegradable plastics such as polyester and other non-biodegradable materials, and could take up to 100 years to break down. They often clog sewers (93% of blockages in UK sewers were caused by them), they pollute oceans and choke birds and marine life.
We have partnered with Sanne at Hidden Hem to create a plastic free alternative. Our facewipes are made in Sanne’s home studio in Rossendale, allowing her to be close to her children. We love working with Sanne to create high quality, supersoft and lasting wipes.
Lux Luz is a startup social enterprise creating luxury candles in London. It was founded by Sophie Arup and Anna Ling in response to the unacceptable fact that 1 in 4 women in the UK is affected by domestic violence. Lux Luz means light in Latin and in Spanish as their products help to bring hope to women who find themselves in situations that can feel hopeless. Their proceeds are going to support S.T.O.R.M. Women, a local Wandsworth charity working with women who are suffering from domestic violence to help fund their art therapy classes.
At Know The Origin we've worked with Friendly Soaps to bring you a variety of nourishing, handmade, plastic free shampoo and soap bars.
Friendly Soaps was started by Rob Costello and Geoff Kerouac, they make soaps that contain no animal products or by-products and are registered with Cruelty Free International and The Vegan Society. They use an ancient cold-press method of soap-making with zero by-products and no waste. Every bar is poured, cut, stamped and hand packed here in the UK. They were awarded Ethical Consumer’s best buy for their leading ethics, every bar is SLS FREE, PARABEN FREE, PALM OIL FREE, PLASTIC FREE and CRUELTY FREE.
