The Carly Bag
The Dharma Door
It combines a jute macrame technique with the style and sounds of the 1970's. The name is inspired by iconic singer and feminist Carly Simon! Each layer is intricately twisted and knotted by fair trade artisans in a remote rural community of Bangladesh. A bamboo ring handle adds comfort and true 70's style.
Roomy and full of The Dharma Door trademark texture and natural raw materials, these bags are the perfect addition to your relaxed Summer wardrobe.

Founded in 2004 by Shannon Sheedy and based in her home studio in the beautiful hills surrounding Byron Bay, New South Wales in Australia, The Dharma Door work with fair trade artisans around the world to create stunning natural homewares, accessories and lifestyle products.
For The Dharma Door, it's all about woven texture, so every product in our collection is crafted by combining natural fibres with intricate hand making techniques. By combining contemporary design, enduring quality and unfailing ethics, they create products that tell a much bigger story than just the item itself. A story woven with every stitch and fibre.
The Dharma Door has been commissioning the incredible skills of female artisans in remote, rural communities since 2004. Their ultimate goal is to genuinely empower as many people as possible out of the cycle of poverty.
