  • Description
  • The Woven Pot is a natural way to feature your favourite belongings. Each basket is handmade from start to finish by fair trade artisans in remote, rural communities of Bangladesh. By adapting their people's traditional rope-making techniques, the women twist, weave and knot strands of locally grown jute into place.

As pleasing as they are practical, The Dharma Door's woven pots are strong enough for your favourite plant, soft enough to add a beautiful textural touch.

The Dharma Door

After Shannon and her husband, Mick, spent a year travelling in India and Nepal, the plight of Tibetan refugees motivated her to return to Australia and design The Dharma Door’s first product. Shannon then searched throughout the region for new products and people to work with, which led her to Bangladesh. She discovered the timeless craft of woven jute; and a wonderful not-for-profit NGO group who genuinely supported its artisans. By working with not-for-profit NGOs on the ground, they have developed an approach that honours both artisans and buyers. Based in Byron Bay, the couple now work together with a global team to replicate this approach across continents.
